This Costa Mesa Market Serves Up Drinks and Street‑Market Energy
The Best Drink Ever recently rolled into Mercado González with 1921 Tequila in tow, ready to drink in the whole scene—literally. This place isn’t just a market; it’s a living, breathing slice of Mexico dropped in the heart of Costa Mesa. The air is thick with the scent of roasting meat and simmering stews. Fresh tortillas stack high like edible currency.
Families fill their carts with produce for Sunday dinner, while friends lean against counters inhaling street‑style tacos. Somewhere, a cumbia beat drifts through the markets. Mercado González is flavor, tradition, and community all crammed under one roof—and the kind of place that makes you hungry for everything at once.
And tucked into one corner of this bustling mercado is Entre Nos, a craft cocktail bar that doesn’t feel like any other bar in Orange County.

Entre Nos is all about flavor, ritual and just the right amount of theater. The bartenders don’t just pour—they craft experiences. When we stopped in with some 1921 Tequila, they rolled out a lineup of cocktails that brought the soul of Jalisco to every sip.
First came a smooth, vibrant 1921 Tequila Margarita.
Then a 1921 Añejo Negroni, smoky and bittersweet, like a Baja beach bonfire in a glass.
Brian Fernandez crushed it with his Hibiscus Margarita which he mixed with 1921 Tequila Añejo.
Finally, we wrapped it up with a decadent Desert Espresso cocktail—1921 Tequila Cream swirling into rich, bold flavors that make you want to linger long after the music fades.
The drinks are only part of the story. At Entre Nos, you’re never far from the pulse of the market. Between sips, you can wander to grab some eats from Chiva Torta (Torta Ahogada is FIRE), Tacos Los Güichos (Al Pastor is a MUST) or a number of nearby vendors. Bring them back to the bar, and you’re part of the scene—a swirl of families stocking up on masa, couples clinking glasses on the patio, strangers vibing to the music together. It feels more like a street festival than a suburban bar.
Weekends are the best time to see it all in motion. Live music spills into the patio, and the late afternoon sun catches the colorful Mercado umbrellas just right. On weekdays, happy hour lures in the after‑work crowd and before long, you’re sharing tostilocos with a group of new friends. This isn’t the kind of bar where you keep to yourself. Entre Nos invites conversation, laughter and a little bit of chaos.
About Entre Nos
If you’re the kind of person who likes your quiet, maybe this isn’t your place. But if you want your cocktail with a side of real life—the smells of street food, the buzz of a market, and music rolling into the night—then pull up a stool. Entre Nos is Costa Mesa at its most soulful: warm, loud, a little messy, and exactly where you want to be.
About 1921 Tequila
1921 Tequila isn’t just another pretty bottle on the back bar. It’s a tequila with roots deep in Mexican soil and a name that tips its hat to the end of the revolution. From the crisp bite of the Blanco to the rich, slow-drinking Añejo and the dangerously smooth Tequila Cream, every pour is a lesson in balance—sweet, earthy, and unapologetically bold. The folks at Casa 1921 don’t make tequila for the masses. They make it for people who care about how tequila is made and the people that make it.
